While we have not been racing much lately,
we had a bit of excitement when Sandra presented Doug with
their
first child. Christina Holmes was born on Friday July 30th
at 12:13 PM at Genesys in Grand Blanc, MI. She is 6 lb 6 oz,
and
20
inches long. Doug has already discussed an order for a junior
dragster and it looks as if she may attend her first drag race
when the NSCA visits Stanton in August.

Summit
Classic XXX!
After a summer
he would rather forget, Doug rounded out his 2003 season at
the Summit Classic. Ably assisted by Keith Engling of Skinny
Kid Race Cars, we put together a string of 6.8 second runs through
the week. When it really mattered Doug laid down another 6.8
to qualify number three for the Oddy's Performance/G-Force Race
Cars Frantic 4. Engling and Holmes stepped up the performance
for the first round to match number two qualifier Radical Rick
Sornberger's pace. Unfortunately the pair stepped it up to much
and blew the tires off at the starting line. We were not overly
disappointed, as the week had refocused the team and with Engling's
help we are now heading in the right direction going into 2004.
Back
to the drawing board!
We went
to the Night Under Fire event at Norwalk Raceway Park and had
just run our first 6 second pass of the weekend when we got
hit in the rear by another racer who had lost his chute. Our
Twin Turbo Chevelle was severly damaged and we are having a
difficult time obtaining new body parts for the rebuild. We
would like to thank all our fans for the encouraging messages
and thoughts. The rebuild schedule should see us out in the
Fall to resume testing. Check
out the full story!
Ready
to Test!
